Saturday Submissions

Who knows what a submission call will bring? Better submit anyhow!

Two submissions calls for this Saturday: Wolf Night (paranormal romance) has about 100 days left and Fix the World (near future) has about 39 days left.

 Wolf Night

An open call paranormal romance (Rated R). One of the things that I like about Dragon Soul Press is that they have a counter on the side of all their anthology calls that counts how many submissions have been sent in and how many they are looking to publish. As of the date that this blog post was published, there were only 7 submissions out of 15.

  • Deadline – November 30th, 2020
  • Publication – March 2021
  • Word Count – 5,000-15,000
  • Company: Dragon Soul Press
  • Pay: 1 year royalties (source: anthology contract on website)
  • Theme – Wolf shifters galore! We are looking for romantic tales of wolf shifters in any setting or genre. The spicier, the better.

Fix the World

An open call to show that our world, while broken now, can have a near future (realistic) of a better future. A great point made by the publisher is that they are not looking for preachy, they don’t want perfect, and “it’s probably better” if the main plot is not what the writer chooses to fix. Some of the suggestions they have include post-climate change, borders are no more, or even one where gender no longer matters.
